Poetry Previews
Here, you will find sneak-peeks of Lily’s poems that are being prepared for publication. Currently, you will find three poetry excerpts from her upcoming collection, Finding Home Again.
Begin With These Poetry Excerpts

“Displaced”
Returning home to a place that isn’t my own.
To a home that has never known
the sound of your footsteps or
the smell of your cologne.
I pass by a street that once knew the grooves of my tires.
A house that once knew
the sound of our laughter,
family dinners and
my picture by your bed.
“Ghost”
It’s shattered –
the mosaic of us.
Splintered and decaying,
crumbling under my fingertips,
slicing to the bone as I
try frantically to salvage every sliver.
I fear these remnants of you will linger,
long after I forget the ten digits I dialed every shift

“Women’s Intuition”
It taps on my shoulder,
ripping at my stomach at every excuse
that falls from your lips,
dripping slow and sweet like honey.
And I’m quick to lap it up,
while this curse screams that
it is honey laced with poison.
